Good zine fun
“Some say the aliens heard the Golden Record and become enamoured with the achingly gorgeous silence detectable (to them) between ‘Chimpanzee’ and ‘Wild dog’. And they wanted to meet the creators of this stunning moment of grace. So Earth-ward they had come. Seeking more of that magical silence we humans are so good at making.”

In this issue, one girl’s imaginary friend goes hungry; two students’ educations add up; three fans go for a drive; and four friends take a tropical holiday.

"What happens when you die? Does a grieving relative scroll through your phone and SMS all your friends? Like: Hi. I am dead. But don’t worry, I’m not ghosting you. Or, not intentionally. My sister is writing this, will you come to my funeral?”

In this issue: I battle dementia and go to a gig; a campfire tale is told; a woman has a brush with fame; and my friend from swimming club pimps me out.
“It is reassuring to me to know that, back in the 1500s, I would have been burned as a witch. Shows I was on the right side of good."

In this issue: birthday fixations are explored; a boyfriend transitions to ex; I ask some big questions and get bedded by a record label exec; and sheep are invited on an incredible one-way trip.
From the Nice archive
Nice, my previous zine (from more than 20 years ago), sank magnificent friendships, inspired sandwich-themed sex fantasies and was the subject of a censorship scandal. It also featured dating advice from members of Six Ft Hick, The Makers, The Betty Longshots and other rock luminaries. I will never reprint these shouts into the wilderness, but here’s some excerpts for old times’ sake.
